Who should submit?
We don’t care if you’ve had serious writing experience or professional art experience – we just want to hear your story! Anyone with lived experience of chronic physical or mental illness, disability, or neurodivergence. If you consider yourself part of the chronic illness and disability community, we are happy to include you!
What will format will the magazine be
published in?
We publish both digital and print copies. Digital copies are available to read for free on our website and print copies help us cover our operational costs.
How do I submit?
Please go to the submissions page and fill out the Google forum to submit your work.
What types of pieces can I submit?
COPE magazine is super open to creative expression. We accept fiction (flash fiction), poetry, essays, nonfiction, photography, comics, music and art.
*We do not accept submissions generated by AI or pieces that contain hate speech
How many pieces can I submit?
At this time, we will allow up to two submissions per person for each issue.
Where do you accept submissions from?
Anywhere in the world!
Do you accept work generate by AI?
We will not accept any work that has been partially or fully generated by AI, we want to promote original creative work from the hearts of the disabled community.
How will I know if my piece has been accepted
either way?
We will email you within 2 weeks of the submission deadline.
Do we edit your submission?
We will edit for grammar, clarity of language, or ease of reading. If anything of significance needs to be changed, we will reach out.
Can I submit work if I'm under 18?
Yes, we accept work created by those under 18. However, we will not include your social media profiles in our contributors section.
Will I get paid for my accepted work?
Unfortunately, we cannot offer any form of payment at this time.
Can I submit work that’s been published somewhere else?
Yes, but please let us know if the work has been previously published.
